Part II: Closet Cleaning.Do you ever open up your closet, see it filled with clothes, and still can’t find what to wear?
Most times when I start working with a client, s/he believes the way to a new look is to shop, shop, shop. While I do LOVE a good shopping adventure, I like to start with a trip to your closet first.
That’s what I did with Erin. If you read my last blog post, you know that we did do some shopping, but I was able to go through Erin’s closet and find some true fashion gems!
It all started with this terrific pink suit. Erin never really considered herself a “pink” kind of girl – she wore the suit once for a work function and then hung it deep in the back of her closet – until I discovered it and turned into several outfits which fit perfectly for her busy lifestyle and limited budget.
Erin wasn’t sure what to wear with her pink suit. I dressed her with a simple tailored white blouse, nude heels and pearls, and she was good to go.

The next look: I found this classic blue and pale yellow striped blouse buried in the middle of Erin’s closet. She loved the blouse, but wasn’t sure how to wear it. What a great look with the pink slacks – especially with those gorgeous oral pumps!

Just for fun, we tried the cropped pants with a navy peasant blouse with an eyelet overlay and colorful embroidery – perfect for a quick lunch meeting!

I spent some time focusing on different looks both with and without the jacket. Look how great the pop of pink looks over trendy white cropped pants and a form-fitting black jersey knit top with a lace-up waist.

Look what happens when we bring back the jacket with dark wash jeans and the tailored blouse – a whole new casual!
And here’s something else Erin loved:: we traded the “usual” jean jacket for a simple blouse over a pretty summer oral sundress.
