Part 1: The Shopping Trip.
Erin was on a tight budget but was looking to be more fashion forward. She wanted a look that was low maintenance to fit her busy life as young mother, bar manager, and freelancer.
A tee shirt and jeans kind of girl, I was able to find a few wardrobe staples in Erin’s existing closet that morphed into several trendy outfits (which I’ll show off in Part Two of this series), but our shopping trip was so much fun!
Once I tapped into Erin’s casual style, I was able to pull her out of her comfort zone of her boyfriend tees and Converse and into a style both functional and fashionable.

First Purchase: Cuffed black track pants
The comfort and style of the 80s track suits are back, so grab your Adidas and jump right in!
We found these adorable black cuffed bottoms and fell in love with the red and white stripes down the sides.
Admittedly, most would not think about pairing the blazer with the track pants, but when we added the simple white cropped tee and a pair of classic pumps, well, she just looked amazing.

Next, I wanted to show Erin that she could wear the same piece and create several outfits. I had her keep the track paints and heels but added an trendy off-shoulder white cotton blouse.
Erin loved the look and wore it that night to a get-together at a friend’s house.

So, we kept the blouse and brought back the grey blazer, but this time we added red pencil slacks, and (oh!) those floral heels. She’s all set to meet up with clients in this outfit.

Not much for dresses (remember she’s the tee shirt and jeans girl), I found this adorable summer dress. There is so much to love about this look: the eyelet print, the flattering off-the-shoulder sleeve and those big, bold white buttons! I added a brown belt for an unexpected pop of color and, just for fun, pink metallic espadrilles.
